As CEO of Focus 360 LLC I’m energized by the growing momentum behind the “AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act”. The recent endorsements from NABOB and the U.S. Black Chambers underscore what we’ve long known: AM radio isn’t just technology – it’s a vital lifeline that connects communities and saves lives.
The statistics speak volumes: 80 million Americans rely on AM radio monthly. For the African American community, where nearly half of Black-owned radio stations operate on the AM band, this medium represents more than just broadcast signals – it’s a platform for voices that must be heard.
In addition, we’ve all seen more than enough emergencies in recent months that we know we can’t afford to lose AM radio’s resilience during these challenges. When cell networks fail and power grids go down, AM radio keeps broadcasting. That’s not just business – that’s public safety.
I applaud the bipartisan group of 48 Senators who support this bill. To our automaker partners: let’s work together to ensure this crucial safety feature remains standard in every vehicle. Innovation shouldn’t mean leaving communities behind or compromising safety.
Proud to stand with NABOB, Jim Winston, and everyone fighting to keep AM radio accessible to all and reach people wherever they are.
