Phil Brown is a national and network radio executive with over 25 years of leadership experience and the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Focus 360. Prior to founding Focus 360 in 2006, Phil spent most of his career at legendary radio representation firm, Interep, where he held numerous executive positions including an eleven-year tenure as President of Interep’s Network Division.
Recognizing the need for advertisers to reach consumers in smaller markets, Phil founded Regional Market Radio (RMR) in 1997, filling a void often overlooked by traditional rep firms.
Phil lives in Westport, Connecticut with his wife, Lynn, and his four children. When he isn’t busy being the first one in and the last one out at the office, you can probably find him working on his boat. Who says hard work never pays off? Probably Phil when he’s working on his boat.
After working in radio in New York, Boston, and Chicago, Jamie Rush saw the potential that Out-of-Home (OOH) had and happily joined the Focus 360 family. Captivated by OOH back in 2001, Rush understands that this media sector is “big, bold, impactful and unskippable.” As he explains, “The data, technology and creativity will only continue to help drive incredible growth for OOH in the coming years.” Now married for over twenty years to his wife, Rita, Rush loves to cheer his three children on in basketball, lacrosse, swimming, and dance when he isn’t working on his golf swing, coaching basketball, or splitting wood.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Film & Television from New York University, James Starace began his communications career in guest booking for a major network television morning show before transitioning to network radio. Now he’s putting his media experience to good use as Vice President of Business Operations at Focus 360 where Starace works with the unique Jelli network; the only terrestrial radio network that allows a network to see and hear station-by-station clearances in real-time. Says Starace, “At Focus 360 are focused on delivering a great environment for advertiser brands, knowing that their environment must enhance their brand.” A loyal Jets and Yankees fan, outside of work Starace often takes his love for music and nostalgia to the web, writing in his blog, MediaAceStar. He also enjoys gardening, listening to podcasts, and spending time with his family including his wife of forty years, GeorgeAnn, their two children, and two grandchildren.
This hot yoga enthusiast hailing from Brooklyn, NY has worked with Focus 360 since 2012 when she joined as director of sales planning. Now Vice President of Client Investments, Tipton sells audio programs and networks, including podcasts, to agencies and clients across the country. When she’s not out trying new restaurants or packing for her next travel adventure, you can find Tipton binge-watching Ray Donavan, Homeland, The Affair, or Succession.
Originally from New Rochelle, New York, Kevin Zoback has worked within the radio business for over twenty years. Now residing in the Township of Washington, New Jersey, this Vice President of Client Investments was excited to join Focus 360 because “the Jelli technology was so new.” His role entails working with agencies and media buyers on developing creative audio campaigns with the use of national radio and podcasts, but he’s always on the prowl for new ways to spread the benefits of radio advertising to clients.
Explains Zoback, “Being a small company means we’re able to offer superb customer service to our clients and get their proposals or requests in a timely manner.” With three awards under his belt including the ABC/Disney “Circle of Excellence” Award for New Business, Zoback likes to spend his free time traveling, playing soccer, trying new restaurants, and hanging with his seven-year-old twin daughters.
After growing up in Brazil, New Mexico, and New York City, James Maldonado’s adventurous spirit now takes root on the east coast where he works as the Vice President of Sales for Focus 360’s OOH. The former co-owner of a horse-breeding ranch, Maldonado holds a Contemporary Music Performance degree from The Santa Fe University of Art and Design and has had the pleasure of opening up for musical greats like Al Greene, George Clinton and the P-funk, and countless others. Now ten years into the OOH Industry, Maldonado is excited about what he can bring to the new OOH arm of Focus 360. Says Maldonado, “I enjoy the one-on-one time I spend with clients, nurturing the relationships to insure long time business and trust, trust that comes from a direct and honest approach to my work.” Residing in Upstate New York, Maldonado and his partner live in a cabin in the woods with their English Bull Terrier, Winston. In his free time, Maldonado enjoys leading horseback trail rides, playing music gigs as a bassist, hiking, camping, and traveling whenever he has the opportunity.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Robbie Eisen worked in both radio and television before joining the Focus 360 team. Now Director of Sales Planning, this York College of Pennsylvania graduate uses his talent to handle inventory planning as well as contract building and traffic for Focus 360’s advertisers and clients. “I like implementing our clients’ radio strategy and building contracts that showcase our network in the best way,” says Eisen who in his spare time enjoys reading, trying local breweries, getting new tattoos, and taste-testing scotch. That is when he isn’t at a Knicks game or already singing along at a Bruce Springsteen concert.
